i also liked the earlier models, they were faaaarr lighter & a bit smaller dimensions while having similar power.... the older ones are the fun versions that are extremely playful when pushed hard on track or road

I used to be an Evo/ WRX STI fan (around the mid '00-s) but nowadays there is no Evo, and Subaru doesn't really upgrade the WRX and STI so I've stopped caring about them.
I've just found out that Subaru made a limited series S207 WRX STI in 2015, of course only for the Japanese market. The engine is still the good old EJ20, upgraded to 328 PS and 431 Nm, slightly more than the "standard" JDM STI's 308 PS and 408 Nm. Great figures from a 2 litres engine but not class leading. The old days when the EVO and the WRX STI were the kings of the compact class sport cars and they had the most powerful 2 litres engines are long gone.
