Quote>"Aluminum honeycomb crush structures front and rear help dissipate impacts, and Saleen notes that this aspect of the car has been amply investigated, both in OFFICIAL NHTSA BARRIER CRASHES and in a couple unscheduled "live-dummy" crash tests during the racing program."
So can ANYONE show me ANY evidence of this EIGHTEEN years later with certain "hypercar manufacturers" from the same country? Because if you CAN I'd be very interested.
This just got a whole lot more interesting!

Ofcourse they had no airbags, I get that.

Estimated Acceleration Stats For Saleen S7 (Naturally Aspirated):
0-30 MPH: 2.0 sec
0-40 MPH: 2.7 sec
0-50 MPH: 3.4 sec
0-60 MPH: 4.1 sec (100km/h: 4,2)
0-70 MPH: 4.9 sec
0-80 MPH: 5.9 sec
0-90 MPH: 7.1 sec
0-100 MPH: 8.4 sec
0-120 MPH: 11.6 sec (200km/h: 12,3)
0-150 MPH: 18.2 sec (250km/h: 19,6)
0-180 MPH: 29.8 sec (300km/h: 33,2)
0-200 MPH: 42.3 sec
Top Speed: 214.5398 mph (345.2684 km/h)
4.1+8.4/(4.1+8.4)x12.5 = 12.5sec standing quartermile time at 125mph (normally I'd use the 11.5 or 12.0 factor, but the car requires 60+mph to fully integrate into second gear)
Acceleration from blast-off: 6.539563 m/s2 = 0.67 G = 0.3sec to the first 11.5 inches (rollout)
12.5-0.3=12.2 dragstrip quartermile time.

Note: I am wary that Saleen claimed a 2750lb (~1250kg) curb weight, but by using the HPWizard tool and putting the displacement and vehicle body type both into factor, with an additional 19 gallons (72 liters = 72 kg) of gas tank, that weight goes up to 2727 lb (or 1237 kg). However, that's a VERY optimistic curb weight.
Simply adding turbos isn't going to add another 200 lb, unlike what Saleen implied. Especially if those only produce like 5 psi of boost. So, (2568+3968)/2 = 3268, and that number added by 2568 halved by 2 = 2918 lb (or 1324 kg).
Saleen claimed that the downforce creates the car's own weight at 160 mph (albeit while driving upside down). However, since the majority of exotic sports car owners don't reach that speed on a freeway in the US, I'm going to AVERAGE these two. 1323.75+1323.75 = 2647.5, added by 1323.75 and halved by 2 = 1985.625 kg.
Estimated drag coefficient rating: 0.315 Cd (medium coefficient for "sports" = 0.31; low coefficient for "performance" = 0.32)

In order for the Saleen S7 to reach 223mph, it must have a drag coefficient rating of around 0.27 Cd.
Despite having more torque, the Saleen S7 apparently launches worse than its Ferrari competitor (the F50).

This car dominated the euro tracks in FIA and is one of the best performing production cars that the Europeans are too afraid to put on the Nurburgring, Top Gear, or 5th Gear. This car not only has racing history it has heritage, a pushrod 7.0L V8 like the GT40 that stomped Ferrari at Le Mans 1-2-3. The Ford GT was a Lighning Truck joke with failing control arms.

The non-turbo Saleen S7 doesn't have 550 horsepower, it has around 441. The last time bpsd.org tested the non-turbo S7, it produced only 441 to the crank.

33 years later, Steve Saleen made the S7 a successor to the Ford GT Mark IV racing legend. The newer Ford GT was a successor to the earlier GT40's, not the Mark IV.

After more than a decade, this saleen is still so dam sweet and remains a top 10 fastest car in the world!

ok no offense dude but you shouldnt add a car unless ya gots its performance data, or a laptime. anyhoo 0-60 is damn sure not 3.9, its 3.3 and 0-100 is 7.0 1/4 mile is 11.3@130 so dair ya go..lol
