You mean the Germans who paid a huge lump of money to the world and apologized for he war, actually claim they never started a war? That's interesting.
Japanese on the other hand have never admitted any wrong doing. And don't teach about the war in school.
Lol. Oh don't forget the Italians were German Allies.

all porkers are underrated and report wrong specs as usual, just like the nazis claim they never had a hand in torturing and starting a war....yawn

https://youtu.be/Ft6MbJsH83Q EVO 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera S review.
Watched it yesterday. Very interesting times - everything is moving to turbocharging.
BR2+ 9y ago
Theres no reason to have a million different versions of the same car, Porsche should just scrap the Carrera and just call it th Carrera S, its that model that gets everything, Publicity, Reviews, Tests, laps, Comparisons etc Same with all the other models, For the most part, The reason as to why theres a market for every version, Is because people cant afford the higher version,
MJohannesen 9y ago
You all need stop complaining, there is a market for all of the 911-range, the new carrera and carrera s is as you all know fitted with a 3 liter, and a more modest set up, go to various german cities and look around, there is a lot of carrera / s around, not all want the meanest 911, if there wouldn't be a market for it, they simply wouldn't make it. Other car manufactories is following the same ****ing trend due to emission rules, the ones to blame is the the politicians as I am sure you all know, the new engine sound without the sport exhaust on the base carrera 991,2 is just fantastic, Porsche knows what they are doing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbLrfNV3Kc4

Aside from the fact that the turbos don't do anything, if these power figures are to be believed(gee-whiz, a whole 20 extra ponies and 45lb-ft?! That's madness!), there's nothing "wrong" with it. My point is that the entire 911 line-up below the REAL Turbo is now pointless. That has less to do with the turbos, and more to do with the Cayman finally being allowed to cross that line in the sand Porsche put there a decade ago when the model was first put on the market.

I would be pissed about this if they downsized to 4 cylinders. Then I woild be really disappointed. But its still a big engine with 6 guns.
If porsche developed a brand new forced induction 4 pot with high power (over 300hp) and possibly even V4 configuration (think LMP1), I woild actually be somewhat excited even for a 4 cylinder Carrera.
Lets not forget that Porsche used to utilize 4 cylinders accross the range, back in the old days.

Whats wrong with base 911 becoming turbocharged?
Other than delluting the 911 Turbo nameplate, I see it as a good thing - all 911 will essentially be Turbo owners. The aftermarket industry for 911 will be even bigger than it already is. Think of all the high power Carrera based faux "911 Turbos" that will pop up everywhere!
saxy 9y ago
The 911 already has the fastest tranny and most aerodynamic body for good straight line speed. But all but the top models, they will all be murdered on the drag strip.
One could argue for lighter car bodies but that would be a hell lot more expensive than putting 2 small turbos.
And like u said, for that price, you'd expect more grunt and performance from Porsches.
BR2+ 9y ago
The GT3 has 475Bhp out of the 3.8, The 997 4.0 had 500Bhp, And those are EXTREMELY conservative numbers that have alot more then claimed, They can get plenty more out of there engines, And thats not even putting there all into it. They say the GT3 will remain N/a, And there only gonna get more powerfull, So theres no way its about sheer power.
Hell if they wanted the car to be faster, Its not always about power, Lighten it, Give it better aero, Faster tranny etc, Not like they have a problem going fast.
And Porsches are getting extremely expensive, Hell a base Carrera costs 77k here in the UK, And 90k in the US, Hell 10 years ago they started at 60k GB and 69k Usd, Thats quite a gap, There great cars, But at that price, Id get something else..
