380 seems very elevated. This could only be achieved with some aggressive tuning and expensive internals for high RPMs. And emissions could be problem in that case anyway.
I don't think they could reliably ship a 4.0 V8 with that much horsepower. But they could do 300+ which would still be a lot for that time.
