S2000 is advertised as 240hp at the flywheel while the RX-8’s is 238hp (250hp was revised a long time ago). Neither car put this down at the wheels. The RX-8 has a 20% drivetrain loss which would put it at 190whp (180whp is average for higher mileage ones) and the S2000 dynos about the same (Engineering explained dyno’d his for base line numbers and had similar results.

to have a more piratical car with 2 more seats and a boot you can use and a heavier car and only to be a fraction slower rx8 wins hands down

Yeah it's the Top Gear track (very wet) which messes up the Honda's times.
