corvette is a pig, with an extremely humongous engine.
give ferrari 7.0 liters of displacement then we talk.

I just spent a day at Mid-Ohio track kicking the crap out of a 430 scudeia in my Z06. I consider myself a novice driver, but the Ferrari driver was very green. These cars are close enough it comes down to driver skill on a road course.

i don't know about track performance but in straight line the z06 beats the scuderia for sure ...tried it ..done it ..z06 stock vs scuderia stock straight line until 240 km/h ..z06 wins hands down for sure..it is not a driver's race the zo6 is clearly faster. the nagazine reviews are not very accurate.

I don't think Z06 use worse materials. No way. LS7 engine is the best aspirated GM engine ever. Sure with semislick tyres could be closer in time lap, in this i agree with you. And Z06 is a great car as you should understand by my previous comment. The Scuderia is may be one of the finest Ferrari ever.
Anonymous 16y ago
You dont find it great that a car of this price and materials is able to keep up with such car? weather were talkin bout price or not. and it is a couple of seconds behind, but it does not destroy it, specially with the worse materials it uses.
Luque 16y ago
Agree.
But don't get me wrong. A Z06 is a magnificent car, best price -performance of the market today with the GTR. But we can not compare a pragmatical and well engineered car with F1-state of the art derivate. I mean a LS7 small block V8 have almost the same performance of 4.3 V8 liter Ferrari. But to design and take into production a high revving 8700 rpm 120hp liter engine with continuos variable lengh intake manifold and valve timing is just a little bit more difficult and expensive. Than some people prefer big engine with high torque and in this field americans are master.

Totally agree with Luque,almost every Ferrari owner will tell you how special Ferrari feels,not just on the road,in the garage too...
That's how good these car are according to the their owners.
In 80s they've had major reliability problems,but that has changed too,at least for the bigger part of it...

Will keep up what ?
It's seconds behind in every track.
And about price is always same argumention, right ?
Price = Performance.
This is what you have in mind.
So about restaurant must be
Price = feed amount
Well It doesn't work in this way, in a $100 dollars fine restaurant you don't eat more than in a $10 Mc Donalds, may be you get something else you can not mesure.
Anonymous 16y ago
Annnnd? even still, a $75,000 car with RunFlats that will keep up with a $273,000, id call that Mighty Impressive.

Anonymous, three remarks :
1) If you comparing Sport test seconds differents in Nurburgring are ten (7,39 - 7,49). 7,42 is a factory claim if not give a Scuderia to Schumacher and we will see the final difference
2)Despite better F1 Eagle tyre tread Z06 looses also in sportauto wet handling test.
