i had a red 1997 fiat uno turbo mk like in the picture above i had the engine done bigger turbo bigger intercooler bigger injectors i had a 5 th injector huge dump valve ect it still had the 8 valve head it made 121 kw and 290 nm on the front wheels and weighed 690 kgs my best 1/4 times was a 13.01 seconds at 179 km/h and had a 0-100km/h 5.45 seconds a true top speed of 231 km/h it was moddified and tested buy SAC steves auto clinic south africa before znyone says my specs are slow remember it was only a 1.4 litre 8 valve motor
the SOUTH AFRICAN version was the mk2 fiat uno turbo assembled by Nissan in roslyn, our version was the1400cc 8 valve 85 kw and 172 nm weighed between 690 kg -730 kg check it out if you dont believe car magazine weighed a few new ons at 690 kgs and was in production until 1998 i had a red

production in South Africa only ended in 1998. I own a 1998 Claret Metallic Uno Turbo.

that is a mark 2.
All the above are mark 2.
mark one is before 1991 and has big ugly front lights not like the mark 2.
very easy car to modify. just add a bleed turbo valve and you increase the boost to 1 bar or more. the car was designed to run at 1 bar but was lowered to a standard .75 bar because of insurance. i had a 1991 mark 2 in south africa where they are very popular. it was about 200bhp. very fast as the car was 800kg. just take the back seats out. i bought another mark 2 now 1991 in uk. standard but will tweek the turbo soon.

Uno Turbo ie without catalyst 118 hp (88 kW) @ 6000 rpm 161 N·m (119 ft·lbf) @ 3500 rpm. from 1991-March 1992.
April 1992 to 1994 Uno Turbo i.e. Racing with catalyst 111hp (don\'t know more specs).

The version on the pic above is Mk.1 but it's ok,I like this hot hatch,not very reliable,especially the electric and plastic (as usual for italians),but still chilli hot at the time it's been on the market.
I remember often seeing red one in my neighbourhood.It had a bumper sticker saying:"When I grow up I'll be a Ferrari!"
