Little do people know that this was the first Aston Martin to get that famous V12 engine. Not to spoil anyone, but it is basically a twin-Duratec V6 engine from Ford.
The same engine actually continues in the Aston Martin DB11 and upcoming Vantage RS in destroked form with twin turbochargers.

Ahahaha! Yes you are right, but the original design for the engine was actually a Mazda/Suzuki unit. It was in 2.5 V6 format used in the MX6 and the Probe. It was also worked on by Porsche Engineering.
The Aston Martin 6.0 V12 was a unique design with a bespoke Cosworth block unavailable elsewhere.
And the twin turbo V12 since the introduction of the DB11 shares nothing with that engine and is ground up completely brand new Aston Martin designed and manufactured engine. In Germany! Oo

Nice car. I got a chance to ride in one of these. At the time my then prized possession (Jaguar XK8) was once again in the shop and the shop owner took me out in a 2000 model DB7 Vantage V12 with automatic transmission. He drove it aggressively and it was fairly fast for a heavy car. Like the XK8, the DB7 is better at grand touring than getting great lap times.
