lol...blows the megane rs MPS3, Focus RS and Leon Cupra R in hockenheim..i think its not a "blow" is just o,3 sec faster than the focus rs and megane rs..0,3 sec is the time when yo close and open your eyes faster..and correct the wheight..is more heavy than that

a 370Z with a dual clutch tranmission would be for sure faster by ~0.5s-1.0s 0-160km/h... but they do not offer dual clutch for the 370Z

That's a very good 0-160 time.

the 0-160km/h time was tested by Autozeitung in a driect compare to the Porsche Cayman basic ...Autozeitung 3/2010

11.8 to 160kmh? thats faster than an Evo X and 370Z, i highly doubt that time is from a stock one.

This is what i got with gps:
0-100: 5.7, 0-160: 12.5, 0-200: 21.3

Primero el peso esta mal.. son 1439 kg que eso ya cambia y de 0-200 en 20 seg es imposible!! si el golf R o un audi S3 lo hacen en 24 a 22 segundos repectivamente, espero respuesta

Annonymous, I have a westfield with 160bhp; on a windy road in the dry with flowing corners I will beat most 200 plus cars based on family saloons and small hatches. Weight matters and effects cornering ability and breaking. Huge power does not make a fast car in real word conditions and 0-60 times are not as important as mid range acceleration. The Golf R with the 260 bhp engine is AWD, the scirocco isn't and will weigh over 80 kg less. I would swap the AWD for a lighter car and go for teh scirocco (providing the chasis can handle the power through the front end). And people only buy Mustangs in the states where there are few bends.

What a beautiful car and once again but, power power power is low. It will be a very average seller and do not look at the hp numbers, look at 0-100, because everybody want a very quick off the line car and if an acura tsx will beat this no problem whats the point, these companies just dont get it. Why do you think people still buy mustangs, they know their getting junk, but its fast junk.

The Scirocco R was due to hit the showrooms in Sept 09, but VW are currenlty saying that production is running late so we may not see it hit the showrooms until early 2010.
It will be front wheel drive like the Focus RS2, so only time will tell how it handles with all that power under the bonnet (i.e. it's basically a front wheel drive S3). Can't believe the specified 0-60 time though, its got to be quicker, being quite light?

The Scirocco is based on the PQ35 platform used in the Golf, A3, Leon, Octavia, Jetta, Eos, Tiguan, Q3, Caddy, Touran, Altea, Toledo, Golf Plus, TT (MkII)
The Passat is based on the PQ46 only used for the Passat, Superb and Passat CC and not like many belive with the A4
