to those that love the 19 16v well done for sticking up for her i can tell u for a fact my one has been borred out to a 2.0 litre piper exhaust n induction kit remappeed. n a performance head gasget. n i piss all over scoobys. 0to60 is 4.9secs lol lol lol

Paul i had a renault 19 16v phase 2 and it was one of the best cars i ever had, i dont know why you said they arnt good. It was very comfy pretty pokey and never ever let me down. I had mine flat out on the motorway in england and had a clock reading of 140mph so could be like 138 but near as dammit.

the 19 was a very impressive car in its day but to do 140 on a standard road is impossible, you may get that in the right environments but not on most european roads, i know this as ive been driving them since about 1995 and have amassed 13 16V's both ph1 & 2

These were quick they had the same engine as the hot clio at the time but the 0-62 should be a little slower than the clio 8.0.

A Renault 19 is not a good, nor is it a fast car. Stop dreaming.

A few years ago on our annual trip to the 24 hour race at Le Mans, my friend took a Renault 19 turbo diesel and you would not believe how fast that went with a mad driver.

We can't take the info from carsurvey unfortunately as the reviews are written by Joe Public ie. they could say anything..... however a friend who is a manic horder of old car magazines found a review that claimed 0-60 in 7.5 so I've put 0-62 at 7.8sec (it can do 65mph in 2nd).

Edited to show 140mph top speed. If you can point me towards some evidence to support a faster 0-62mph time I'll be happy to update the info.

The data on the site is only as accurate as the input made by everyone that contributes..... anyone can add a new car or lap time so we later have to edit the info if its found to be incorrect...... not an easy job when there are nearly 2000 cars listed so far.

Hi Wads yeah sorry the first profile i made didnt come up with anything so i tried a different one with a different name to see if it would function. Thats really odd because i had mine tested on a track and it ran 7.2 seconds, and a could of people i used to work with had the same car and had around the same figures. Plus the top speed for the ohase 1 on here is wrong aswell so i dont know how accurate this site is.

The official specs were 8.2sec to 60mph so 8.5sec to 62mph seems reasonable. So barry and dave21 do you share the same car? I assume so as you both share the same IP address..... unless you are actually the same person?

Yeh same plus the top speed is wrong on this ive had 140mph from mine and thats what it states in the book. I see the wrong figures all the time. Mine runs about 7.2 0-62 aswell! Its fast!

The 0-60 time for the Renault 19 16v is by far incorrect. All the ones that i have owned ive had tested on 0-60 and theve always run 7.2-7.4 seconds. Also all the people i know who have owned them have had the same times. ;)
