Hi Wads, glad you like my SLS AMG videos I posted on Youtube...can you believe I did all the capture, editing, AND upload all on my Apple iPhone 3GS? Anyway, yes the car sounds fantastic! The windows were down on the SLS so you hear a lot of wind noise. But even with them up, it sounds terrific. Yes, convoy was a let down and I might have only tapped about 60% of its potential. The grip is limitless. We drove all the other AMG's there and I managed to slide off the track in the CLK black series. That was a beast! The SLS was way more compliant and surefooted and made us look like heros! lol

Alan..... I don't think the SLS has a manual gearbox option so its still an auto like the SL63

Very nice Alec..... the car sounds fantastic, was that with windows down or can you hear that engine/exhaust clearly when all windows are shut? Such a shame they made you drive around in strict convoy it didn't sound as though you had many chances to push the car very hard? I live just down the road from Mercedes Benz World in the UK so will head down for a look/drive soon.

BumRush, for everyday use, I'd take this over M3 GTS, but if for weekend use, especially involving trackdays, I'd take the M3 GTS over this.

Danny, I don't think it's really a replacement of SLR, SLR is faster, more powerful, and a lot more expensive. I'd take this over SLR as well, SLS is a more complete package and finally a MB performance car without autobox

Its the replacement for the SLR. I prefer the SLR, because it looks better and is way more powerful.

Yeah its confirmed there going to make one. i herd its gonna have 610bhp 450lbs lighter with a BlackS body kit, bigger brakes better tyres, an an all around better car, more track oriented then other Benz's. with price being between $40,000-$60,000 more, depending on what they do, but as of now i, of course dont have any real info on it, but that is what i here.

Probably he never will be as famous as gullwing 300sl is. If I remember correctly till 1955, 300sl was the faster car in the World with top speed 250km/h.

i am surprised that the sls is slower than gt3 on the ring and laguna seca !!!! pretty much hp difference should do better.btw i like sls more than slr coz it is more balanced,lighter,and more affordable relatively :-)
