laptime sounds perhaps slow by todays standart...back in 1986 only a handfull
sportcars could play in the same class on a race track, even a Lotus Esprit from
1990 or a Ferrari 348TB from 1989 were no match to the B6 3.5S... Aplina had
build only 62 of them...
Yeah! Another "lower part of vagina" on fastestlaps.com! Why there are only a
handful Alpina on fastestlaps.com? einszweidrei.de is full of Alpina tests.
M3 has been fascinating,then Alpina came up with this,and it's been a blast,but
I believe M3 Evo still used to handle better, due to this car in-nose weight of
steel block 3.5 liter straight six, lots of weight but also lots of
durability, those engines are famous of it.
There is a joke about old bmw's straight sixes. You can run a car with'em,then
use them as an anchor for 15-20 years, then again run a car with them.
But,they do drink more than Lindsay Lohan does lately...
If your putting Alpinas or Ruffs on this site , why not add all tuners. I know
everybody hates to hear this name but Hennessey and Especially U.R have set lots
of speed records and have been in many magazines. So lets eliminate all tuners,
Saleen , Ruff, Alpina,Hennessey, Underground racing.........
Alpina has the status of a car producer since 1983..their first model was the
B6, B7 Turbo and B7Turbo Coupe from 1978... today Alpina produce 1500cars a year
in average..
just a example Alpina was the first car producer on earth in 1978 using
electronic controlled ignition on all of their engines, in 1979 they started
exporting cars to Japan etc.
You guys should realy learn something about cars befor posting comments..
the same german ministry of transport that RUF, 9ff, Brabus, Wiesmann, VW, Audi,
Mercedes, BMW, Artega, Yes, Gumpert, Rudolf, Melkus, Dauer, etc gave the
producer status... you anonymous fool knowing nothing about cars...
they are based on BMW and they never hide that fact... like every RUF is based
on a Porsche..like every AMG is based on a Mercedes, every Nismo based on a
Nissan, nearly all Shelby based on a Ford, all Mugan based on a Honda, all 9ff
based on Porsche etc. In the modern world it is normal that everyone takes parts
from others...
Mitsubishi use VW engines ...does it make the cars less Mitsubishi? Peugeot,
Citroen and Toyota sell one car with three different badges..does it make a
Toyota Aygo less Toyota than a Yaris?
how many BMW e30 models do you know equipped with a 3.5l straight six engine
little history leason for you... there was a limited edition BMW e30 333i build
with a 3.3l straight6 engine, exclusiv for the south african market... it was a
co development between BMW and Alpina, the BMW 333i shared most of the technic
of the Alpina B6 but with a aerodynamic package of M GmbH...
