I have added the 0-200km/h time after reading it at the Porsche web
special...thats officel factory claim vs car magazine test... the 997 Turbo
facelift PDK was already tested much faster than factory claim..but till there
are tested numbers we have to us efactory claim
The Turbo S is nothing different than a well going fully loaded Turbo facelift
with all the perfromance options of the Turbo comeing as standart... like PDK,
engine mounting, rear dif, active torque vectoring, central lock wheels, carbon
brakes etc. etc.
There will be not much different to a perfromance option added normal Turbo
this has 30 ps & 700 Nm of torque unlick the normal turbo that can have that 700
Nm for only few seconds and we all know that this car is much faster than a 10.8
truth is in a good day 2" to 100km/h & 9" to 200kmh/h i believe it will be much
faster than a well optioned turbo...
0-100 km/h 2.9 seconds
(considering the normal turbo did 2.9 to 60mph)
0-160 km/h 6.5 seconds
0-200 km/h 9.9 seconds
0-300 km/h 34.4 seconds
Quarter mile 10.8 @ 132 mph
Goerg that 30ps you considered not a big factor made porsche previously claimed
the carrera 4s (385ps) one second faster than a carrera 4 (345ps) in a 0-160km/h
acceleration.
Carrera4 S are n/a engines there is much more work needed to get 40hp more out
of a n/a flat6, at the turbo they play a little bit with the boost and it is
most likely that the Turbo facelift already have more power than the 500hp
claimed. The 500hp Turbo was already tested with mindblowing 3.1s 0-100km/h with
PDK, magentic engine mounting and all other perfromance stuff avaible as option
for the facelift Turbo thats much faster than factory claimed, I donīt see there
much room for the S to improve that perfromance significant... I bet we will see
several test done in not so ideal conditions were the Turbo S is slower than the
storming Turbo that was tested with 3.1s
you know american magazines didn't get their hands on the new turbo yet so
expect better times and for the turbo s it wont be winter tested like the normal
turbo so if a normal turbo is capable of 10.3 to 200km/h in the winter without
semi slicks the turbo s is capable of 9" in the summer. and you'll never know
when those semi slicks will be available then even the normal turbo will come
close.
