Something tells me the ZR1 you raced didn't have a very good driver GK. You're going to need more than 645rwhp to beat a ZR1. What do you trap in the 1/4? Over 125mph? That's the only way you're going to pull a ZR1 on a straight, particularly up top.

I own a 2007 shelby gt with a griggs watts link and 645 rwhp/585lb/ft tq. I still had trouble passing a ZR1 at Road America. My car handles very well and will simply out run the ZR1 on any of the straights but having driven a ZR1 I can tell you 1st hand that it is an awesome car. I have not driven a super snake nor do I want to. My problem with the vette is Chevy never does anything to market the car as special and Ford has Shelby...a genuine American Icon.

There not, ther fun to drive, they look good, they sound good, and there at a bargain price, people, still, nowadays go by that american stereotype that american cars are crap, but thats just an opinion, and ignorance, you dont have to have the best up to dat suspension to have fun driving, you dont have to have 0 wheel spin to go fast, its all that crap generlization, Mustangs are great cars, at a great price.

aerodynamics do take over sometimes, but so doesnt power, that goes both ways. and 205+mph has ben proven, it was proven along time ago, just look on you tube, someguy did it on an itialian or greman test track.

who told you it was capable of 205? btw i agree with you about the suspension but 205 just wont happen. aerodynamics take over sometimes when youre moving faster than most hurricanes.

Anyone talking crap about this thing having solid rear axle and how thats bad suspension is really retarded. The solid rear axle is the best for drag racing. Anyone who is serious about it will always swap out their IRS for a solid rear axle. Better for launching. And yes this thing is a beast and is very hard to handle. There is a local gentleman in my town who has one and is an avid racer and has granny shifted this thing on street tires to a 11.4 cause it was brand new at the time. This thing has a top speed of 205+ and is definatly capable of keeping up with the ZR1.

I dont think you all know how serious of a performer this is, given it has a quite good race driver like Jeff Ranger,Jaime Furman, Luke Dyser, Marcus, Havener or Jan sensen, this will put down the same number as the Carrera GT in a straightline, ive seen it, the reason it has those numbers posted is because whoever tested it wasnt that good, well i wont say wasnt that good, just, wasnt a pro, and couldnt handle all that wheel spin, but put one of those other drivers in this and you will see its potential, even with its weight.

If they took 1000lbs off of the weight this car would have some serious potential. And that means getting rid of that heavy suspension for starters.

and this thing should not be compared in anyway to any corvette because they would eat the gt500 alive in the quarter, corners, and just about anywhere u can think of!

I think people are forgeting they are comparing two cars that are very close in stats,butare in two completely different categories Corvette= true sports car, Super snake= sports sedan. Everyone just compared a four person car, to a two seater, try throwing four people in the corvette to go to the track, and still post a 11.1 1/4 mile time. But don't get me wrong the corvette is a very impressive car. and the zr1 is even crazier.

the body kit? all they did was add a 1 inch raised hood and and new side vent, and your gonna tell me that adds 200lbs? including the supercharger?

The ZR1's weight is partly from the engine as well. The supercharger added a little mass.

i actually looked it up and it turns out they have used proper pirellis and coil over suspension on this stang. btw the reason the zr1 is heavier is because of the body kit. all 4 of its brakes combined weigh less than 1 on the z06.

There is always an excuse from GM about why this and why that, so dont even bother asking again.

actaually the zr1 is too heavy, all that carbon fiber body work and its 200lbs heavyier thatn the zo6, somthings wrong. i know it uses is bigger tyres brakes and other stuff, but cmonnnnn...
