Well then you buy the 2.0TFSI/3.2 if you want revs.

True but most diesels run out of steam past 4-5000rpm.... low down torque is good for city driving but far less important when you want a spirited drive in the country. The ideal engine has a very wide torque curve with high revs and high power.

you only need high rev and bhp on the race track...in daily traffic with lot of low and mid range rpm the diesel torque realy shine..

Lots of torque isn't much use if you don't also have high revs and bhp.

It is actually shocking how far the technology has gone since first use of diesel engines in passenger cars. 170 hp from 2.0 liter diesel egnine - it's fantastic. 20-30 years ago 2.0 diesel engine couldn't get more than 50 hp. And 170 hp was the power output from a 5+ liter V8.
