@ Fangio Man & Viking: I've seen the movie, I was amused by the part of the chase when Bullitt's Mustang and the suspect's Charger keep going airborne when going up the hilly street. XD

@Fangio Man
I have the film "Bullitt" on DVD so I can watch it every once in awhile. I have also driven on many of the same roads used in the car chase.

@ Fangio Man: I do remember the original rather than this one.

Anyone remember the film "Bullitt" with Steve McQueen and Robert Vaughn? :D

The Mustang Bullitt was among the last Mustangs introduced without a top speed that is electronically governed. It could do 151 mph despite a poor Cd estimated by me at 0.387 (As far as I know Ford didn't release the Cd for the 2005-2009 Mustang variants. The only ungoverned Mustangs nowadays are the 2013 Shelby GT500 at 202 mph, and maybe the Boss 302 Laguna Seca (Car and Driver says it isn't governed, but Road and Track says it is governed at 155 mph). Car and Driver tried to hit top speed on a hot, windy day, and only hit 165 mph (in one direction). I suspect that on a normal temperature, calm day, it should easily exceed 170 mph.

@anonymous, the mustang, and camaro, and vette, and viper, AND gt beat all those. the $60K mustang gt500 lost to +$500K supercars....now you heard your dad...go to bed

The mustang is pritty fast with those weights. Really faast. I got mustang to. And it got more quality than europe cars. Because i got mustang now over a year and before i had 20 years EU cars.

@Anonymous' DAD

I think he has gone to bend numerous times in the last two years.

I could be wrong though. Ha

Go to bed, child! You have school tomorrow and have ZERO business discussing cars when you not only don't have a driver's license, you still wet the bed. HAW HAW HAW!

This rook idiot drives his MustangS on American race tracks (known for being less smooth than European tracks..did you know that, guy? I bet you didn't, because you've never laid rubber on a track in your life) and at autocrosses and just might know wtf he's talking about.

Couple things, your comparing the 415bhp Roush Mustang to a VW R32, and bothe the NSS-R and M3 were done in very wet laps, and wet laps add 4-5s on to a dry lap time, so i wouldnt be laughing if i were you.

User avatar

Mitch Lomax  16y ago

Check the lap times on the top gear website idiots. You guys hate all over the mustangs cause you can't compete with them, especially for the money. If you look at the top gear website you will see that the roush mustang and the gt500 beat your precious r32 and m3. Also they beat the nsx type-r. Haha

just to let you know, evan smith from mm&ff did a 13.29 1/4 mile with a stock bullitt mustang. that should probably be added. he is a beast at running cars to their true potential

That rook idiot must drive his mustang over perfectly flat roads at low speeds. I wonder why FERRARI, PORCHE,and all japanese and other supercars all have independant suspension. Try driving a car at 200km on any course without independant suspension. By the way what time did the mustang do at NURBURGRING? Piece of junk!!!

Actually, the Exige isn't blazingly fast. It might have excellent handling, but it definately feels the lack of power. A lot of people seem to think that cornering is all you need to get you around a track fast, but power can work too. The car that corners better doesn't always win.

The suspension experts are lotus and Porsche
If u want to know how good a cars suspension is look at their power then their laptimes. The exige doesnt have loads of power but because of its handling lightweight chassis and suspension it can punch above its weight same with the gt3 rs and the c2s

Rook  17y ago

..again..ignorance.

If you take the front suspension off of a 996, and the rear off of..say...a GTI..know what you get? A Mustang. No way, right? Look into it, kids.

By the way, an independant rear suspension only provides a benefit over rough terrain. If some of you had ever been on a track, you might know that.

I think the best suspension is from FERRARI or BMW!!!!!!!!!

User avatar

427SuperSnake  17y ago

Nissan only makes one good car (the GT-R and I don't even like it) and POSSIBLY the Maxima. For suspension, go to Australia or France.

User avatar

Anonymous  17y ago

Ford should close its doors to restructure and hire the boys from NISSAN to help!

User avatar

Anonymous  17y ago

At least dodge can afford to put a real suspension in their cars and it will probably be 100 years before ford could put a car on nurburgring that could do a 722!!

User avatar

Anonymous  17y ago

Well look at dodge, all they could come up with is the viper? After all those years!

User avatar

Anonymous  17y ago

Ford needs a bailout so they can afford a suspension for their crappy cars.

User avatar

A suspension only found in museums! Piece of junk!
