All Ford Escort Cosworth were build at the Karman plant in Germany, Cosworth only reworked the engine.

They needed to add it to the road car because it was needed at the WRC race car, and during that time only things that were stock at the production car were allowed to be used in the WRC. The amazing time of the many Evolution road going models (long befor Mitsubishi Evo). M3 Evo, Mercedes 190E Evo I and II, Delta Integrale Evo I-III etc..1980´s early 1990´s best time of Motorsport...
