Demise of Jaguar will be by end of 2024.

Say goodbye to ICE cars because they finally realized their cars are utter shit and not in demand and have turned into nothing more than hairless pu*sy car, they will sell you an electric car at 5x the price of a Chinese electric car.

Good luck getting screwed hard.

The same can be said about Volvo, the company who once made one of the best souding 5 cylinders

I think it's weird that Jaguar will only make SUVs from now on. it might cannibalize Land Rover

Looks like someone based their whole life on a single hobby and is too insecure to handle a company switching from making cars powered by a chemical reaction that produces heat by combining oxygen and hydrogen to produce water to making cars powered by the transfer of electrons between atoms.

Volvo is actually doing pretty well with their electric cars right now. And... they are owned by a Chinese company.

I believe that's what he meant. That they had an incredible internal combustion engine, the in line five he stated and they've already made the transition. Or seemingly so to Electric Vehicle only production.

Something the original idiot has missed, completely.

id argue that lotus is also doing well, they might not be "lotuses" per say but in a vacuum the Evija and co are very good cars

User avatar

LotusFan  1d ago @humana

The plural of Lotus is either 'Lotus' or 'Lotus Cars', not 'Lotuses'.

User avatar

my point still stands

Collins.

Anyway has a plural form, accordingly. Although perhaps not Automotive.

I personally don't think that the Eletre and Emeya, while good cars from the reviews that I have seen, do not matter. Their upcoming Type 135 will probably be the most important thing that they will ever do. It will replace the Emira and honestly, it will need to be good or they will lose all credibility.

User avatar

I agree, though I think the emeya at least is very beautiful car

Can we appreciate how far ahead Lotus' graphic design team was back in the 1960s.

User avatar

LotusFan  1d ago @humana

I agree. The rumors are that the battery will be roughly half the size of the battery found in a Porsche Taycan and hopefully half the weight.

User avatar

humana  1d ago @LotusFan

just over 1100 kilos is good in the EV market, so let's hope it has 300+ hp to back it up

User avatar

Cocobe  1d ago @humana

The Lotus electric cars are nowhere to be seen for most of the world, but the Volvo electric cars are everywhere

User avatar

GTR35  1d ago @Cocobe

They've only ramped up production in the last couple of years. I've seen a Lotus Eletre in the last week. I not too fussed about sales figures for them just yet.

It's more the other manufacturers that need looking at!

User avatar

GTR35  1d ago @LotusFan

Yes, definitely!

User avatar

LotusFan  1d ago @Cocobe

One brand has over 3,500 dealerships while the other one has less than 200. Volvo sells more cars in a year than Lotus has sold ever. It's almost as if Volvo is both a larger brand and has been making electric cars for an extra two years.

Like I said above, 416 PS is the EEC rating and 420 hp is the SAE rating. Read the small print found on technical specification on the electronic brochure.

http://jaguar.tagworldwide.com/xf/090/xf090_en_GB.php?route=_uk_en_company_faq_contact_us_ebrochure_Brochure@

The fact that there are tests which shows this car can do a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 4.9 to 5.0 seconds which is better than Jaguar's claim of 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 5.1 seconds suggest that it's certainly capable of doing Jaguar's claim 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) of 5.4 seconds.

The XF is rated at 306kW that are 410hp/bhp or 416PS...

http://www.jaguar.co.uk/uk/en/xf/models_pricing/specifications/engine_technical.htm

There is no 0-100km/h test avaible were the XF SV8 reached claimed 5.4s best so far was 5.5s, there are several tests were the XF SV8 only reached 5.6s to 5.8s 0-100km/h

This car's 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) should be 5.4 seconds. There are tests which shows this car can do a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 4.9 to 5.0 seconds which is better than Jaguar's claim of 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time of 5.1 seconds. Also, it should be 420 hp. 420 hp is the SAE rating while 416 hp is the EEC rating.
