0-60 mph is done at 2nd gear, and it's 7,5, but 0-100 km/h is done with change
to 3rd gear and it's 8,7

pug 106 gti and saxo vts use the same engine/gearbox, and weigh almost the same.
The difference in accel times is the way the tests were conducted.

ive always found that the vts is 7.7 0-60mph while 106gti is 8.7 0-60mph, they
have the same engine but i think the cams may be different?

No, they have the same cams and same everything. They both have the same (or
almost) 0-60 time no matter what internet figures might suggest.

Whoever put the Ford Fiesta ST? I am a Ford tech. A Saxo VTS may have a chav
image but it would beat a Fiesta ST round a short circuit and is much more fun
to drive.

Jon, I now drive an ST, coming from a 106 Gti (same as a VTS), the ST is more
fun to drive, believe.

That 0-60 time is 100% correct , i've got a 100bhp vtr and i had races with
vts's and of the line they are not 1.5 seconds quicker and even upto 100mph they
are only a tiny bit in front so i say 8.7 sounds about right next to the 9.1
vtr's time.

I had a race with a Fiesta ST i was behind and it was uphill and i had to back
off or i would i hit him , it could if been slip stream but still he wasn't
leaving me u guys pay these group 13/14 insurance for cars that are no quicker
at normal speeds like upto 100mph but pay for a poncy 5mph extra it's laughable
just get a god dam bike for christ sake save money and do 0-60 in 3 instead of
8.7.

well anyone wonder why the vts is insurance group 14 and the 106 gti is 13, you
do the math, 106's weigh more, i have a vts and it kills 106 gti's

i have a saxo 1.1 with a vts engine in it and it leaves 106 gti's for dead and
as for vtr's when i hit 100mph its like 100yrds behind me
