This is wierd. GT3 RS has the same Nordschleife lap time as GT3. Very wierd.

Heyhuub 23/02/07, 19:24:06
Yeah, but it is only 20kg lighter then the normal one. On Hockenheim on the other hand it is more then half a second faster. Destroying everything in its class.

Georg 24/02/07, 19:40:47
give it in the hands of Walter and I am sure he does a 7:40min with it. He did a 7:42min in the 997 GT3 last year and a 7:43min with the 996 GT3 RS. That is the different between factorytest driver and jornalist.

Heyhuub 25/02/07, 16:29:22
The 'journalist' is Horst von Sauma, a verry experienced racing driver who drove a lot of 24 hour races on the Nurburgring. But i agree, Walter could probably shave a few seconds off.

destroy evrything init's class? - is the supperlaggera nt in its class - i'd say so - even if the lambo is way $$$$

Heyhuub 24/07/07, 11:06:41
Yeah but also has a hundred more horsepower.

Georg 27/12/07, 13:31:57
0-160km/h 8.8s .... 0-200km/h 13.2s http://www.autozeitung.de/online/index.php?render=55379 (see pdf for full test)

Georg 02/01/08, 20:31:13
there is a mistake.. Fleet TV names 1:40.72min for Zoldern at the homepage..in the Fleet TV video http://www.fleet.tv/nl/video.php?vidid=94 they clock 1:41.72min..still the fastest time..and more amazing driven in foggy track conditions..amazing

Georg 11/07/08, 22:02:08

Here is the actual weight road and track found 3195. http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/download/1007_RT911_GT3.pdf

Anonymous 23/08/08, 06:56:25
who cares they both do the same at the N-Ring..

Georg 23/08/08, 09:48:27
@GTR The GT3 RS weight 1375kg/ 3025lbs http://www.porsche.com/germany/models/911/911-gt3-rs/featuresand specs/

GTR 23/08/08, 13:15:33
they actually weighed the car... Porsche is not giving weight in the same format as all other cars (not lambos) are reported in

Georg 23/08/08, 14:44:43
many magazine weight cars and every comes to a different result have never seen a car that weight exactly that what the manufactor claims

GTR 24/08/08, 10:23:05
not weighting exactly the same and 150 lbs. are two different stories tho. I've read in multiple places that the actual weight is near 3200 lbs. so its most likely that Porsche is bending the truth in its literature

Anonymous 24/08/08, 11:44:29
so ive personally seen one that weighed in at 2987 in pure stock form, so different sources say different things..

GTR 24/08/08, 21:10:27
was the one you saw weighed a Euro or US model?

Anonymous 24/08/08, 23:49:51
it was the US model, had full ac and radio. it was weighed on one of those big platforms along with 5 other cars. it was black with yeoolw rims and matching dash and seatbelts, sadly it wasnt mine:(

GTR 25/08/08, 10:05:08
even if that was with no gasoline and the one road and track weighted was with a full tank, 17.7 gallons of gas is only around 105 lbs since it says that weight is without driver. I wonder how results can vary so much.

Anonymous 25/08/08, 10:46:26
THE one i saw weighed had no gasoline, no driver and absolitly nothing in it and it had all the options. the were weighing in 5 other cars for some kinda test besides the gt3 they had a Alfa 147 a HSV GTS Coupe a BMW E90 M5 a C6 ZO6 and finally a Aston V8 Vantage a 99 model i think, these were all donated by various drivers from different business companys, they wanted too do a test on the cars for somthing. since ma buddy new i was a big car fan hey hooked me up, i personally didnt see any of the tests except for the drag and weight test and aero tests, but i got to sit and chat with the owners of the cars, it was awesome since one of my favs were there the GTS Coupe, and i was stunned when i saw it cause they dont sell those in america. and it was owned by a pretty lady:)..although i am curious what those tests were they wouldnt let me observe the other tests, wonder why?..

Werty 25/08/08, 10:48:20
yeah i wonder why weight does very by so much sometimes i mean ive seen one mag say a Carrera GT weighed 3651 and another say it weighed 3045, im like WTF wered that 600lbs come from? confusing as all shit..

GTR 26/08/08, 21:58:13
here is another one by Edmunds finding it at 3209 lbs. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Followup/articleId=1 22354/pageId=129303
