In Japan the Pulsar (known as the Sunny Gti-R in the UK) had 227bhp and 284nm
due to higher octaine fuel.
If anyone is interested, picture of Pulsar (Sunny) GTi-R:

There was also a GTi-R RB version which was more of an lightweight RS addition.
It had same engine but weighed 1190kg and used a much shorter ratio box, it was
geared to 127mph.
Yeah, they are a rare and mostly over-looked car, in fact Nissan were doing "an
impreza" before Subaru, but never developed the car further. Due to its 4wd they
launch really well, stock 1/4 mile is 13.9secs, but like its bigger brother the
Skyline GTR, most are not stock, and usually push out 300bhp, up to and over
600bhp! (or 330bhp in my case). Its a raw and fun chuckable "pocket rocket".
Unfortunatly its an old car now (made up until 1994) so trying to get a stock
lap time is difficult. I have a Jap vid of a stock car against an R32 GTR
Skyline around Tsukuba but its from a standing start so doesn't count.
