this car has bad suspension

Anonymous 31/12/07, 01:45:21
If only those idiots at Ford installed independent rear suspension on all the Mustang models including the Shelby GT 500, their financial troubles would be over. You need an independent rear suspension on sports cars like the Mustang.

Georg 31/12/07, 06:43:01
You do not need... the Z06 clearly shows that you don“t need it. In German car tests done by Dmotor Tim Schrick claimed that at normal speed on public road you never notice that there is a suspension different compared to a car like the BMW 335i. The only critic from him... the brake pedal feeling..the brake work well. He claim the Mustang is a good deal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNPS1-Ru1K0

Re: independent suspension. The kind of people who buy Mustangs usually don't want them for handling, and a rigid axle assembly maintains zero camber and optimum traction in a drag-race launch. Better still, the '03 and '04 Mustang Cobra, with 390hp, apparently broke rear-ends a lot. SO, the more powerful GT500 apparently got a straight-axle for the sake of strength.

BluEvo210 17/07/08, 19:41:00
The Z06 DOES have an independent rear suspension, albeit a cheapo design with a transverse leaf spring: the spring is mounted to the body in the middle, and each end connects to a control arm. It has long been said that Corvettes have awesome grip, but are too skittish to really use it. I think the Z06 owes it's lap times more to its' engine than its' suspension.

Too bad the dealers are marking up the GT500 so far above the Mfr Suggested Retail Price. $55K is the lowest asking price I've heard of, and $60K to $80K is apparently common. If they'd actually sell it at MSRP ($43K), I might save up for one. As it is, you can get a supercharged Saleen for about the same money, and it will have better handling...even with the straight axle. :)

this actually has a really good aguna seca time with beigh so heavy..

Anonymous 13/11/08, 01:35:43
All mustangs have a suspension found only in a museum, because fords so cheap! All supercars have independant suspension ,they also do 0-60 times of under four seconds also.Dont support second rate american junk that rusts after the first rain!

Anonymous 18/11/08, 23:27:34
You've failed to notice that the Mustang isn't a track car. Half of what you said isn't valid. And of course 500 hp is what got it around Laguna. BTW if even if the Lotus of whatever handles better, guess what, it posted a slower time and that makes the straight line Mustang the faster track car. Also, saying Dodge can't make a good handling car means you've probably never heard of the Viper. Saying the US can't make track cars means you've never heard of the GT, Viper, Corvette, MT900, S7, etc

Anonymous, 100% of what Adam says is not valid. In fact, he is not a valid human being himself. He is like a robot with artificial brain that, apparently, doesn't function very well (perhaps it's still in development stage).

He just keeps on posting these incredibly long, boring, pointless and random comments over and over again. He does not respond to what others say, he does not engage in any kind of conversation. He just writes and writes and writes these stupid comments.

And then, after some 500 comments he goes to sleep and wakes up every morning just to write some more.

Real comments are real facts like do not make excuses for ford as like someone said before (VIPER-VETTE-PORCHE and many MORE)do straight line speed much faster than the mustang and all have independant suspension BECAUSE IT MAKES SENSE!!!! If ford cannot build one after all these years need i say more that anything ford is shit.

Chiesi 20/11/08, 22:56:22
