You have to think about the weather and the traffic. One reason the GT-R did a
7:29 is because they went around track before it opened (or it was right when it
opened). The track could have been wet or cold so the tires did not heat up.
The SR8 is a n/a V8 with a much better power delivery, in a track race car a n/a
is always the better choose. Turbo can produce a higher power but mostly it
comes together with a small usefull powerband.
Look at the F1.. in the past they had much more power from smaller turbo
engines.. but driving them was a pain in the ass.
Both laps were driven on nearly empty tracks.. the SR8 only passed one car a
Mercedes SL AMG on the last corner to the long straight.. costing him less than
a second. The SR3 Turbo lap was clear but if I am not wrong they only had time
for one hot lap..
