Excellent and true sport car, but its nationality is totally unknown: built in Hethel (U.K.) with Opel/Vauxhall components, as engine, gearbox, brakes, ignition key etc., and bodywork designed by Opel/Vauxhall.

However, which is Opel/Vauxhall’s nationality: German? British? North American (GM)? And Lotus? Now it belongs to Malaysian Proton, but when the Speedster was designed it still belonged to GM.

Come on. This car has nothing to do with Germany. It was designed and built by the Lotus boys in Hethel.

I've read on Evo magazine than gap between track configuration is about 7 seconds.

"faster than Nissan GT-R" "slower than Ferrari Enzo" LOL!

The lap seems quick because it was done on the old slightly shorter config of the track, the current config has a few changes which add around 5 seconds to an average lap.
