2004 Ford GT

I had the opportunity to drive a friend's GT at Watkin's Glenn and it handled very well. He had dropped it an inch or two and replaced the tires but it still handled very well IMO.

Hypohetically (BumRush)l.o.l. Lots of writers say the samething. Because it uses a simple FORD truck engine. Ease of upkeep and maintenace. Lots of car dealership owners have them in my city. Just really easy to drive and maintain compared to many other exotic cars.

(Anonymous) Using the FORD truck engine is the genius of the GT-40! It keeps it from being ultra-expensive and any plain FORD machanic at any garage can take care of it for you without costing an arm and a leg. One of the big complements the GT-40 dose get is how comfortable the seats are. The biggest thing they need to improve is the handling. One writer said it turns like a farmers tracktor:)

This is a car that looks waaay BETTER in person. This has to be the best first super car for people that live in the U.S. It is a wonderful everyday driver. And the engine is just a modifided FORD pick-up truck engine so any corner machanic can work on it. You can order the engine in a crate and put it in anything you want. Be advised though. It is far from having razor sharp handling. It dose NOT have close to the point and squert steering of say a Ferrari. In comparison it turns like a boat. I've seen them on many obstacle courses and all the writers say the same thing. In a twisty obstacle course or race track the Corvette would far out class it. But on the stright aways too much fun!

For the person who said the GT's engine is cast iron, you are mistaken. The GT used an aluminum block and heads, unlike the gt500.

The one I'm working on does 252.9 in the mile from a standing start.

needs lighter engine from new '11 stang. new wheels, lightweight rims, maximum comfortability bucket seats, random weightsaving stuff like that. then i'd buy it. till then? zr1.

I really love the shape and history behind this car but hate that Ford ruined it with a heavy supercharged iron DOHC truck engine! Saleen has the correct engine in the S7 go figure and the tires are not enough for all that torque but the Enzo's seem to fit perfect. FORD= Found On Road Dead

my god!!!!! that Quarter mile data is bullshit...i mean thats how much lp640 needs...this is slower than lp640 alot...it needs to 200 kmh 12,0 and lp640 10,2 sec...U gotta be kidding me...

0-60mph is 3.3, so i dont think 2mph more would take .6s, so 0-100kmh would be 3.6. and looking at that 1/4 mile trap speed, its quite obvious the 0-200kmh is not 12.0s, so i do believe it shoul be removed. and top speed is a proven 212mph or 342Kmh, that 205mph/332kmh is its electronically limited top speed, and its Top Gear Laptime was done on a (Damp) track. please change.

O, n i know this is of no relevance here, but its 0-150mph time n 0-170mph time is 15.8 and 22.0s!!!!!

And i herd somewhere the Mods wont fix that torque and top speed problem.

They do have Very similiar 0-60 and 0-100 times, but the GT has better tyres which is better on a standing start, The ZO6 will keep up with it, but after the quarter mile the GT pulls ahead by a good distance, the GT has really bad aerodynamics compared to the ZO6',s Cd.40 Vs Cd.34, but in a straightline, the GT's power is just too much for the Corvette to handle after that mark. around a track however is a different story.

In what way? Damn sure not in a straightline, but on a track, it depends.

I am sure a ZO6 could take this car.

Get rid of the 0-124mph/0-200kmh time. and if 0-60mph is in 3.3, 0-100kmh would be 3.5, and top speed is 212mph, not 204mph, bhp is 550bhp not ps, weight is 3349lbs, and torque is 500lbft, (MotorTrend)

Thats because the 0-124mph is about that, so it should either be deleted or put a time up there, and this has a top speed of 212mph and its torque is 500lb ft. and this GT is stock, that GT on TGA was tuned, so its lap or that car has no place on this site.

0-200 should be corrected. if this car can do a quarter mile in 11.2sec at over 211km/h(131mph)the 0-200 time should be at least 10.4 sec.
