Lexus LF-A even in it's least exclusive non-Nurburgring edition Coupe form is a very rare car. But if you're looking for the last word in Lexus exclusivity, there is just one car that will do - the Lexus LF-A Spyder - it will make your neighbour's LF-A appear as exclusive as a Toyota Corolla.
American talk-show host and high profile car collector Jay Leno recently had a chance of driving LF-A Spyder, while he was visiting Japan.
LF-A Spyder is a one-off, permanent "top-less" version of LF-A Coupe - it hasn't got convertible hard-top or fabric soft-top, nor does it come with a removable hard top, ala Bugatti Veyron Vitesse.
If you get caught in rainstorm while driving this, your best bet is to find a petrol station or a multi story parking lot.
Performance-wise it uses the same drive-train as LF-A Coupe, so no added value there. Since LF-A has carbon fiber body and is built around a carbon fiber tub, lack of roof shouldn't affect chassis stiffness and handling. Jay certainly was very happy with the way it handled high-speed turns in Fuji speedway.
Since Lexus LF-A is one of the best, if not the-best, sounding car on sale, absence of roof and rear window should make its gorgeous V10's scream even more enjoyable from driver's and passengers perspective.
