"Autocar Handling Day 2000" at Mireval |
30.04.2009 |
Yes, I know it's now year 2009 but it's better late than never!
Bezza has posted results of Autocar's handling day comparison test (12 laptimes in total) that took place in year 2000 at Mireval proving grounds in southern France. Several gorgeous supercars from previous millennium (Lamborghini Diablo, BMW Z8) participated in this contest but the first two places were occupied by track-day lightweights (Caterham R500 and Noble M12 GTO).
You can see entire 12 lap times by visiting freshly added Mireval track page. And don't forget to thank Bezza for posting this material. |

I also remember a 4-door with more than 400hp which was tend to be better than an M5 of that time (Holden I think…) and an odd lotus car which was faster on the corners than a Caterham. The Z8 was a disappointment, same as the RS4 which was less fun to drive (according to the test driver) than the small A2 (also tested that day).
Plus watch this space eventually for autocar 1990, 91, 95, 96, 97 and 98!
