| Porsche Dauer 962LM and Ultima GTR720 will eat this, but if its true, its quite
an achievement, but wasnt there a rumor that the Mclaren F1Lm did it in that
exact time too?

it is officel sportauto has comfirmed the record run from Gumpert. The record
run was a idea of KW suspension and Michelin tires. According to the driver
Florian Gruber a under 7min with this car is possible. Sportauto makes a own
supertest with the Gmpert Apollo speed to see what happend in the hands of a car
journalist at the Ring...
The laptime datarecording from sportauto

| The gumpert appollo may be the fastest production car around the nurburgring for
a while i mean the 7.11 lap time is 12 secs faster than the acr s lap time its
going to take allot of hard work for some one to beat that time.

| If nissan is trying to beat the production car lap record with their spec v they
just wont just look at the gumpert appollo it doesnt have any competition it
destroys the competition.

| Nissan can always fake a new time. i bet their Spec V will do a sub 7 minutes
and then constantly shaving one second off that time every week.

| Any company can fake a time, there really is No proof the time can be accurate,
just think about it, mags can post a time and a video, but you cant see the car
from the outside or the laptimes from the mags in person anytime can be faked
whether it rang from the gumpert to the gtr.

If you compare HP and Torque and weight, it was always obvious the apollo could
do a better time than the ACR, but i am sure even the ACR could have gone under
7:20. The ACR has got to be one of the most underrated supercar.

| This is clearly not the fastest road going car you can by, it the fastest road
going car thats ben tested, that you can buy. there are plenty of car that will
rail this on a track, not to say that time isnt an amazing feat.

| I believe that the 7:11 laptime of the Mclaren F1 LM is real. That car is just
wicked fast.

| Where is the Saleen S7 Turbo when you need one? The S7 did dominate FIA racing.

| yeah i would like too see an S7TT at the Ring, but i really dont think Saleen is
interested in breaking any records, they certainly could, but i dont see anybody

I always new the Apollo would break the record. I would love to see the Saleen
S7TT at the Ring. I bet it would be close if not beat the Apollo. If it couldn't
the S7TT Competition with 1035hp could.
Some cars I would like to see at the Ring.
Saleen S7TT & Competition
Ascari A10
Leblanc Mirabeau
Ultima GTR720 & GTR800
Mosler MT900GTR
SSC Ultimate Aero
Caparo T1
Viper ACR with Hennessey Venom 1000 Engine treatment

As per sport auto and Gumpert the lap was done by a Gumpert Apollo Sport not
Speed.

@Liam
just look at the licens plate..the car which drove the 7:11 carry exactly the
same licens plate as the Apollo SPEED (look here at the data sheet) at the main
picture of the Apollo speed you can clearly read the licens plate + speed
painted on the front fender... so there is something wrong...
a) Gumpert has used the Apollo speed and had rebuild it into a Apollo sport ...
because the car is identical (licens plate/ painting)
b)or there is simple a mistake in naming it

@Georg
I think you are right. They had two Apollos there, a yellow one which may well
have been a Sport and the white and blue one which from Gumpert's own specs such
as the wheel arch louvres is certainly a Speed.
From the film of the lap you can clearly see a blue wing mirror hence the lap
was done in the Speed model.
