| Hello you have the following mistakes in the list
1)corvette c6 did 1.33.20 and not 22
2)bmw m3 smg road legal without mods (smg is just the automated gearbox)
3)subaru impreza sti (special edition but from the dealership. it's like the
richard burns edition in UK and the FQ vesrions of the mitsubishi evo
4)mazda mx-5 2.0 RC stock 2.0 with hardtop
5)subaru impreza sti2.0 again dealership
6)mazda rx-8 cosmo stock 231bhp
7)mazda rx-8 challenge stock 192bhp
8)audi tt 2.0 TFSI (MY 2006) stock 2006 model
9)subaru impreza wrx stock 225bhp
10)honda civic type-r you have typed a comma so it is not sorted
11)renault clio RS (MY 2006) stock clio RS
12)peugeot 207 RC stock
13)audi a3 sportback 3.2 quattro stock
14)vw golf gti you should also put DSG in the end since it makes a difference in
the time
All of the fight clubs articles of drive magazine only have road legal stock
cars they do not test any aftermarket tuned vehicles.
The renault clio sport(pirelli P zero) is also stock but has pirelli pzero tyres
but it is the same idea with vw golf gti pirelli edition again stock dealership
Also all the times that were made in 2007 they were in damp conditions (the 599
and 997 turbo where tested on saturday (wet) and on sunday the rest but the
track was not completely dry
Finally i will send you the fotos from the 07 fight club which lists all the
times recorded from 2000 until 2007 |

It's good you reminded me about it because your e-mail for some reason was
automatically put into "spam" folder so I didn't notice it when it arrived.
There, however, is a problem. Your photos are so low resolution that I can't
really read them (I guess that was a cell phone you used to take these photos).
So it would be nice if you could add these lap times yourself. You don't
necessary need a link to the photo as reference. It's well enough if you just
type in the issue number/date of the magazine. Here's an example "Drive magazine
10/10/2007" |

| The resolution is 1632x1224 which i think is enough for an A4 page and i can
read them quite well. In the e-mail the pictures are resized in thumbnail view
but you can download them. |

1632x1224 is more than enough. Unfortunately your attachments were like 200x200
and few kilobytes in size. I downloaded these pictures as attachments (not as
thumbnails). Maybe you can upload these photos to some photo hosting service and
give me the links? Or if you have Skype I can send you my account details and
you can probably send these photos via Skype. |

| about the initial comment: i am not su sure the 997 turbo would "surely would
beat F430 out of it's throne". "wet" track means nothing: could be "flooded" or
just barely "damp at spots". not to mention the 997 turbo is 4 wheels drive, as
opposed to the fiorano, which is infact more likely to have a chance to be
faster than the f430. |
|
| A156 |
02.04.2008 |
| I agree that 997T was not so sure to be the 430 "killer". Thanks to its 4wd the
impact of the wet track was not so great. "Drive" tested also the 997 Carrera 4s
in wet track the same day and it was just about 1-2 sec slower. But they also
tested the M3 and it was very hard to drive (bacause of RWD) and it was about
8sec slower than its dry time later! So maybe the 997T wasn't the new king but
the 599 was for sure!!! Ok, TC helped 599 in wet but not so as 4wd helped 997T. |
|
| A156 |
02.04.2008 |
| Oh btw, "Drive" had to return 997T and 599 to there owners so they couldn't wait
and test them on dry like they did with the other cars. It was realy bud luck... |

And they probably were scared to death not to crash these two cars. And
therefore they probably did not extract the best lap times they could. |
|
| A156 |
02.04.2008 |
| No the laps were fine (for wet...).But it is not easy to say to a ferrari owner
"Can I keep it one or two days more?" |

05.04.2008 |
| Hmm. Some of the lap times seem odd. How come a SLK 55 AMG is slowest car in the
list. Beaten by all the hatchbacks?! |
|
| A156 |
05.04.2008 |
| It was the Traction Control that doomed the SLK. They couldn't switch it of. |
