Wet handling tests included |
28.11.2007 |
Some car magazines such as "Sport Auto" and "Autocar" do wet handling tests. In these tests raceway surface is artificially covered with even layer of water so there is much less grip and four wheel drive systems as well as good quality tires can really improve the cornering performance. Until this day there were no wet track handling tests in fastestlaps.com but as these wet laps reveal some hidden aspects of car performance I decided to include them.
There are two new tracks listed in the track list - "Sportauto wet handling test" and "Bedford aut. wet handling test". Autocar lap times come from already discussed "Driver's car of the year 2007 test" while the Sport Auto tests come from various Sport Auto "supertests". |

The sportauto wet handling test is done with driving aids turned off, cars like
Mercedes which do not allow a completely turn off, of the traction controll
systems have a huge drawback in the wet handling test.. but they are on the safe
side.. |
